Day 1
Welcome to Chiapas!
Upon arrival at Tuxtla Gutierrez Airport, your guide will warmly welcome you and escort you in a private transfer to the geological marvel known as Cañon del Sumidero (Sumidero Canyon), offering breathtaking views of the Chiapas region and a chance to observe diverse flora and fauna. Subsequently, you will proceed to the enchanting colonial city of San Cristóbal de Las Casas, established in 1528 by Captain Diego de Mazariegos and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Check into your luxurious hotel, and the remainder of the afternoon is yours to explore and discover the magic that this place has to offer.
Day 2
El Chiflón Waterfalls and Lagunas de Montebello
Your first stop takes you to the breathtaking Chiflón waterfalls, where we traverse a narrow trail of steps leading us to witness the majestic waterfall known as "Velo de Novia" (Bride's Veil). Subsequently, we continue our adventure by exploring the astonishing Lagunas de Montebello National Park, a wonderful natural reserve housing lagoons of diverse hues. On the way back, we make a brief stop in the community of Amatenango del Valle, where we can appreciate its unique beauty and culture. Finally, we return to San Cristóbal de las Casas to rest and stay overnight, having experienced an unforgettable day in connection with nature and local culture.
Day 3
San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán
In the morning, you will embark on a journey to the indigenous communities of the Tzotzil ethnic group, immersing in a world of traditions and unique culture in San Juan Chamula. Here, you can appreciate the fusion of contemporary traditions and ancestral characteristics. Subsequently, you will head to the community of Zinacantán, where you’ll visit its church and a family cooperative to observe how women work the waist loom, an ancestral art from pre-Columbian times. You will have the opportunity to enjoy a typical regional drink called pox and some delicious handmade tortillas. Enjoy the rest of the day to walk around San Cristobal de las Casas’ streets filled with history and culture.
Day 4
Sima de las Cotorras and El Aguacero Waterfall
Today's journey begins at the Sima de las Cotorras, where you will be witness to dozens of chattering parakeets spiraling into the sky. You will have the opportunity to delve deeper into exploration with optional activities such as rappelling and trekking (these activities are not included). Continuing your journey, you will venture into the Cueva del Encanto to marvel at the majestic El Aguacero Waterfall. You can cool off in its crystalline waters, traverse the trails, and immerse yourself in the surrounding natural beauty before returning to San Cristóbal de Las Casas.
Day 5
Agua Azul Waterfalls and Misol-Ha Waterfalls
You will leave behind San Cristobal de las Casas early in the morning, heading towards the Agua Azul waterfalls, where you can marvel at the deep indigo blue of the water caused by the minerals found in its depths. Taking a delightful stroll along its pathways is a pleasure, as is taking a refreshing swim in its waters. We will then proceed to the Misol-ha waterfall, a natural pool amidst lush greenery. You'll have time to capture photographs and walk along its trails. Finally, we will arrive at your luxury hotel in Palenque.
Day 6
Archeological Zone of Palenque
Today you will be amazed by the famous archeological site of Palenque where you'll encounter the largest Mesoamerican step pyramid, the Temple of Inscriptions, adorned with hieroglyphics that have played a crucial role in advancing our understanding of Mayan civilization. Step back in time and marvel at this stunning place! You will be transferred back to your hotel in the Palenque area.
Day 7
Villahermosa and Back Home
Time to go back home! At the designated time we will head to the Villahermosa airport to catch the return flight home. We already miss you!
