Day 1
Welcome to the "White City"
Are you ready to visit the “White City”? Welcome to Merida! Your accommodation will be in Chablé Hotel where you will experience nature and culture the Mayan way. Today you'll kick off your exploration with a city sightseeing tour where you will see the most significant landmarks of Merida, encompassing the historic center, notable theaters like the Peon Contreras, streets with both numerical and named designations, the iconic Paseo Montejo, museums like the Casa de Canton, twin houses, Quinta Montes Molina, the minaret, and much more.
For a delightful evening, you might choose to take a leisurely stroll along the charming avenue of Paseo Montejo, where you can explore typical restaurants or indulge in Yucatecan street food at the zocalo. Don't miss the opportunity to savor a “marquesita” – a crispy crepe rolled up and traditionally filled with melted shredded cheese and a sweet filling of your choice. It's a delightful local Yucatecan treat that shouldn't be missed!
Day 2
Mucuyche and Uxmal
Embark on your journey to Mucuyche, where the rich history and cultural gems await. Begin with a guided tour of the Exconvento, unraveling the tales of its colonial architecture and deep cultural roots; dive into the captivating history of this former convent, witnessing its evolution over the years. Later, immerse yourself in the crystal-clear waters of one of the region's most enchanting cenotes. Feel the rejuvenating vibes, surrounded by the untouched beauty and serenity of the natural surroundings. As the day unfolds, indulge in a well-deserved lunch break at a local restaurant, savoring specialties such as cochinita pibil, panuchos, or salbutes.
Later in the afternoon we will continue to Uxmal, known as the "three times built," which is located in a hilly area called Puuc. It is the most important city in the region, a true gem with its style of smooth friezes and decorated roofs. Highlights include the Pyramid of the Magician, the Quadrangle of the Nuns, and the Governor's Palace. To conclude, we will return to the white city of Merida.
Day 3
Chichén Itzá
Today you will head to one of the 7 new wonders: Chichén Itzá, the most important city between the years 900 and 1300 of our era, with notable structures such as the Temple of Kukulcán, together with the Temple of the Warriors, the ball court, the astronomical observatory, and the Nunnery Quadrangle, they exemplify the city's significant ceremonial character. After exploring the site, you will have lunch at a restaurant in the modern Maya town of Piste. Following the meal, we will visit the entrance to the Mayan underworld, a cenote near the town, where you will have the opportunity to refresh in its crystal-clear waters before returning to the hotel.
Day 4
Market Food Tasting & Yucatecan Bars
This afternoon is the time to immerse yourself in the local culture of Yucatan. On this tour, you will visit a local market, a traditional ice cream shop, and two Yucatecan cantinas. Within the market, you'll have the opportunity to taste the most popular dishes of the country. Following the visit to a traditional ice cream shop where you will be able to try unique flavors such as mamey fruit and rompome, you'll explore the traditional bars of Mérida, known as "cantinas." You’ll visit two different cantinas where you can enjoy some drinks and snacks while listening to Mexican music in a very pleasant atmosphere.
Following the tour you will be able to choose between staying at the hotel to enjoy the beautiful amenities, activities, and cuisine that it offers, or doing a tour in the White City.
Day 5
Goodbye!
Unfortunately, it's time to pack your belongings and get ready for your journey back home. Until we meet again!
